New this week: Cleveland

A new addition to the store is the latest equipment from Cleveland Golf. We have demo clubs available for you to try so please feel free to come and see us in-store and ask to try one out.

The range consists of the new Launcher HB Turbo Woods and Launcher Halo Hybrid, as well as 2 sets of irons in the HB Launcher and the UHX models.

Ladies Clothing

Competition news

Club/Nett Championship

We recently held both our Club and Net Championships in which players faced some really tough playing conditions making for an exciting day.

In the Nett Championship, Tom Wainman, a new face at Drayton Park Golf Club, posted a second-round nett 72 to go with his first round of nett 68 to eventually win by 2 shots.

In the Club Championship, windy conditions prevented the usual low scoring that we come to expect from this event. Tom Ryder negotiated the tricky conditions coming out on top to win by a single stroke.

Congratulations to this year’s champions.

 
Club news

Shoutout to Dale

Last week saw the final leg of the UK swing on the European Tour played just down the road at The Belfry, with Rasmus Hojgaard eventually coming out on top after a playoff with Justin Walters.

We are very proud of our Head Greenkeeper Dale Housden, who was given the opportunity to work at this event and also the event at The Forest of Arden a few weeks ago.

Dale always does his best to promote Drayton Park Golf Club wearing his club crested uniform to these events and posting on social media, all helping to raise the profile of our golf club.

Congratulations Dale!

 
Fitting news

TaylorMade Fitting Day

We are looking forward to hosting our TaylorMade demo day on Friday 18th September.

A TaylorMade technician will be bringing a comprehensive range of their latest equipment for members to test.

Since advertising the day, we have had a huge amount of interest and have now filled all of the available slots for the day.

If you missed out this time but would be interested in future events, we are always looking to bring our brands in to run days like these. Be sure to watch out in the newsletter for future opportunities!

Golf on Tour

Top two showdown

What better way to finish a PGA Tour event than a shoot-out between the world’s top two players?

Dustin Johnson, World No. 1, needed to nail a winding 43-foot putt over a ridge on the final hole to force a playoff… And he did. The putt lasted an incredible 10 seconds.

World No. 2 Jon Rahm must’ve felt sick heading out for the first playoff hole. If he did, he hid it well. The Spaniard made DJ’s miracle putt look mediocre as he sunk one from 66-feet for victory. That’s what I call pinch-yourself golf!

Pairing you with your perfect irons
