Some names can be spotted all over every single Tour: on golf balls rolling towards the hole, on putters held aloft in victory and on drivers striping balls down the fairways.

Srixon is certainly throwing its weight around in that field with a many elite players favouring the Z-Star XV balls. But Srixon should not be sniffed at when comparing its hardware to the other heavy-hitting brands. There's a reason Lowry, Koepka and Matsuyama put it in place. Please have a read all about the recent ZX Mk II range of drivers and how one of these in your bag with seriously help your game.

First impressions

The ZX Mk II drivers are - as you may have guessed - a second generation of the ZX range. In terms of initial looks, Srixon has refined the aesthetic appeal with a more uniform colour pattern that we really like. While the ZX5 and ZX7 drivers were mostly black and red with silver highlights, the Mk II models are predominantly black and silver with just a hint of red. A change we really like. It just looks like it means business.

Key tech under the hood

While the second generation certainly has the shelf appeal and will draw your eye, it’s important that they perform just as well as they look. So, what has Srixon set out to improve upon?

Overall, the Rebound Frame and face of the driver have been designed for faster ball speeds on impact, and the variable thickness pattern ensures a purer transfer of energy between club and ball so can you reach greater distances down the fairway. After all, that's what we're all after!

The ZX5 Mk II and ZX5 LS Mk II have an 8g weight in the sole to optimise spin, while the MK7 Mk II two weight port locations so you can vary weight and loft. Not only are these drivers make for distance and have lots of adjustability features, they feel amazing and will give you more confidence when standing over your ball on the tee. Exactly what we need when we're faced with a tough opening hole tee shot.
