Daniel Whitby-Smith - Head PGA Professional

Dan brings over 15 years of experience in the golf industry and became a fully qualified PGA Professional in 2017. His playing career includes an impressive list of achievements, most notably qualifying for two DP World Tour events in 2023 - the British Masters and the ISPS Handa World Invitational. With over 70 professional wins worldwide, Dan also made history in 2018 as the first player to win all four Staffordshire major titles in the same year. In 2022, he proudly represented Great Britain & Ireland in the prestigious PGA Cup.At Drayton Park, Dan manages and operates the Professional Shop, delivering expert customer service, coaching, custom fitting, and indoor virtual golf. His dedication and professionalism have earned industry recognition, including Foremost Golf’s Breakthrough Professional of the Year 2021, Midland PGA Professional of the Year 2022 and served as Midland PGA Captain in 2025 - a role that reflects his commitment, leadership, and passion for the game.

Simon Dainter - Lead Coach

Simon has over 6 years of experience in the golfing industry and has been a member of Drayton Park for 3 seasons in the past. He is currently in his second year of his FDSC Golf Studies Degree at the University of Birmingham and is passionate about expanding his knowledge of all areas of golf coaching. Simon is an approachable, easy-going, knowledgeable individual and endeavours to provide high quality, personal coaching for golfers of all levels. Simon is also in charge of the junior development at Drayton Park and runs weekly sessions for juniors of all capabilities. Since starting in September, has had a good response with numbers quickly increasing and fantastic feedback from both students and parents alike.
